This is Alpha Sim's freeware P-80 Shooting Star For Flight Simulator X. This is 45-8490 / FT-490 currently on display at the Castle AFB Museum, Atwater, California. She wears a single MiG-15 kill marking under the cockpit .On November 8, 1950, the first jet-vs-jet aerial combat took place between a P-80 Shooting Star and a MIG-15 in the area in northwest Korea later known as "MIG Alley." Several days prior to the fateful day, MIG-15 jets had been encountered by U.S. AF F-51Ds on patrol near the Yalu River area. On the afternoon of 8 November, Lt. Russell Brown piloting his Shooting Star of the 16th Fighter Squadron, out maneuvered two attacking MIG-15s, tacked onto the tail of one of them, and poured .50 caliber fire into him until the MIG exploded. FSX/Acceleration/FS2004 Amphibious Floatplane Bartini Beriev VVA-14 in two versions. This strange looking aircraft was a soviet prototype for an amphibious concept, planned for a VTOL version with 14 engines; therefore the name VVA-14. The first version was a konventional one with gear but no floats and made its first flight in September 1972. Later inflatable rubber floats were installed but the aircraft was not able to go airborne. Finally the inflatable floats were replaced with solid floats, the bow was streched and got two additional jet engines. The design gives you no answer if this monster is an aircraft, a hydroplane, a flying catamaran boat or an alien spaceship from starwars. The wreck can be visited at the Molino museum near Moscow. The second prototype went lost in a fire and the VTOL version, planned for anti submarine warfare, was never built. As FS-model you can fly both version of the first prototype with great handling on ground, in air and on water: One with animated inflatable rubber floats and the other with solid floats. FS2004 Curtiss P-40Q Racer/Sport Aircraft Post-war civilian version of Curtiss's last attempt to improve the famous P-40 series. Although Curtiss did a fine job, the P-51's and others were already proving themselves. This post-war version is based on the one which flew at the '46 National Air Races, and appears as it might in the '60s or '70s. FS2004 Moller Skycar 400 V4 Update. This is an update of the Moller Skycar 400 V4 by AC Kerkhove (here) . I have updated the flight dynamics and corrected the problem of the GPS not showing properly when it is toggled. I have changed the aircraft from one engine to 4 engines.
