The North American F-86 Sabre was without question one of the greatest fighter aircraft of all time. Development of a purely fighter-bomber version of the Sabre was initiated by North American Aviation on March 16, 1951 as the F-86H. After withdrawal from ANG service, F-86H aircraft with the lowest air time were turned over to the Navy. The Navy used them both as target drones and as MiG simulators for TOP GUN aggressor training. The F-86H had a similar size, shape, and performance as the MiG-17 fighter then being encountered over North Vietnam, and many a Navy F-4 pilot was "killed" by a F-86H Sabre during these mock battles. FSX/Accel/FS2004/P3d Soviet Cruiser Slava. Three of ten planned ships of the soviet Slava class were built between 1976-79. With a length of 186 m it carrierd 16 containers for SS-N-12 missiles, 64 vertical launchers for SA-N6 missiles and two twin launchers for SN-4 missiles, a 130 mm twin gun, six 30mm guns plus a Kamov Ka-27 helicopter for anti submarine warfare. The cruiser reaches with a power of 130.000 sHp a speed of 32 knots. After modifications Slava was renamed to Moskva and she and her 2 sisters are still serving the russian navy. The sim model has a lot of animations (controlled by a switchboard) inluding missile launches of all three types and a Kamov Ka-27 helicopter which is deployed out of the hanger doing take offs and landings. The final Spitfire variant, the Mk 24, was similar to the Mk 22 except that it had an increased fuel capacity over its predecessors, with two fuel tanks of 33 gal (150 l) each installed in the rear fuselage. There were also zero-point fittings for rocket projectiles under the wings. All had the larger "Spiteful" tail units: modifications were also made to the trim tab gearings in order to perfect the F Mk 24's handling characteristics. The F Mk 24 achieved a maximum speed of 454 mph (731 km/h), and could reach an altitude of 30,000 ft (9,100 m) in eight minutes, putting it on a par with the most advanced piston-engined fighters of the era.
