Dassault Mystere IVA Israeli. (DASIVAI). The IAF's first aircraft to cross the sound barrier, the Mystere's design originated from another type already operated by the IAF. A firm believer in evolutionary developement, Dassault designed the Mystere by fitting the Ouragan's fuselage with a 30 degrees swept wing. The result was the Mystere I whose first flight took place in February 1951. Model by J R Lucariny. 1.3MB

A 'what if?' re-paint for Rob Richardsons new FSX Fariey Gannet 'kerosene converter' (it converts kerosene to noise!) Absolutley excellent, great VC (for the NAV, too!) lots of features, double Mamba sound, and free, too. Model is avalable at Classic British Files .com http://www.classicbritishfiles.com/index.php?option=com_cont .. The Gannet was evaluated by the RCN in the mid '50's as an Avenger replacement in the ASW search and strike role, but the Tracker was selected as Fairey would not license production in Canada. We can, however, visualize an alternate history through the magic of FlightSim. An RCN Gannet in VS-880 markings, HMCS Bonaventure, 1958.

FS2004/FSX Seafire MkIIIb
FS2004/FSX Seafire MkIIIb
FS2004/FSX Seafire MkIIIb (Category: FSX > Vintage)
16.39Mb (1435 downloads)
FS2004/FSX Seafire MkIIIb The Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm entered World War 2 under-equipped with modern aircraft., so a logical move was an adaptation of the RAF’s legendary Spitfire. The first Seafires, designated Mk. 1B, were rebuilds of Spitfire Vb’s and entered service in early 1942. The Mk IIIs served in the front line until 1946 and were then rapidly superseded by Griffon engined Mks XV, XVII and 47s. France equipped some of its Aeronavale squadrons with ex-Royal Navy Seafire IIIs and these saw front line service in Viet Nam in 1946/47. A handful of de-navalised MK IIIs served with the Irish Air Corps until 1960 and were almost certainly the last Seafires in service anywhere. Some historians have derided the wartime Seafire as too fragile and too sensitive to be an effective naval fighter and there is no doubt that its deck landing history reflects many accidents. It is, however, acknowledged as one of the finest low level fighters afloat in 1945 and one of the few that could tackle a Japanese Zero on equal terms. GMAX source included. Model by A.F Scrub
