Kalamata airport (LGKL), Greece.Updated to v1.02 This is my 2nd freeware scenery so far. This is Kalamata airport (LGKL), Greece. Southwest Peloponnese region, with photoreal scenery texture. It's located west side of Sparta (99 kilometers away) separated my the mountain of Taigetus. Airport opened in 1959 and is basicaly 2 airports in 1. It was started as military and a few years later, civilian flights began to operate. Airport is using objects from "airfield essentials", "orbx grass", "static military models" and "TKB object library" ... so ALL thanks goes to them for the models. This airport will work better in P3D4 because i use the "dynamic lighting" effect. Keep in mind that orbx is needed, or else the grass textures aren't goin to work... I 'am not sure about FSX though, i don't think it will work there....

FSX/Acceleration/P3dV3 Vought SB2U Vindicator improved textures for that prewar carrier based dive bomber. The two repaints are for the update package from Michael Pook. The convertion from CFS2 to FSX/P3Dv3 was made by Erik Hertzberger. The repaints has no historical reference but they looks a bit more photorealistical than the old CFS textures. The model provides folding wings and an animated gunner. Please add or replace the two texture sets to the preinstalled package. By Erwin Welker

There are four parts of this mesh to download as separate files. ASTER GDEM Version 2 is a 30 metre definition DEM, its better than the version 1 data that ERSDAC, of Japan and NASA originally released, but it does have its limitations. GDEM has been obtained from a satellite that uses stereoscopic infrared scanning cameras, this brings with it problems in the resultant data.....where it sees the tops of trees, buildings etc, as the ground terrain. If you look at the jpg image with the terrain type errors shown as a graph, you will see that the only 'safe' terrain to use this data with - in FSX - is scrubland, or desert terrain. Its hopeless in defining the terrain in places like Europe - with all the artificial structures, (buildings) and different types of woodland, so any mesh I create from this data won't include areas like that....it will be more desert type terrain, and scrubland. I won't be doing Greenland because something about the ice around Greenland, (or any other land mass with ice) it creates false data. It does give enough fine data to reveal railway lines, and some roads though. This mesh has been made for FSX only.
