Construction number 253 was built in 1953 as 130076 for the US Navy, and was then transferred to the Aeronavale as 76 under the Military Aid Program. This particular aircraft is believed to have served with Escadrille 23.S, and, powered by a Continental R-575-42 engine, the HUP-2 was capable of vertical replenishment, casevac, rescue and plane guard duties. 76 served with the French Navy until struck off charge 31st October 1964. Originally sold in 1971 to a civilian operator, 76 was bought by D. B. Baris in 1973 and now proudly sits on a roundabout at Charloise Lagedijk 938 in Rotterdam South. An actual veteran of the Aeronavale, it is hoped that this aircraft could be exchanged for the one hanging in the Musee de l’Air at Le Bourget, as that example, despite its colour scheme, never served with the French Navy. Painted on to Jim Jacobson’s model, modified by both LLS and Michael Pook, this aircraft is delight to fly and ideal for pottering around some Caribbean islands. Enjoy

There is a sailplane tutorial & mission in FSX. This hang glider mission is placed in the same region. For a better experience in this hang glider mission, I found it fun to use the thermals in the area. In your settings, choose weather and the option of schematic to make the thermals visible. When you lift off from the mountain, perform about a 180 degree turn & you should see a high thermal spiral very close by. Lift off is from about 11,560'. By circling within the thermal, you should be able to reach 18,000' to 20,000' without too much difficulty. This opens up the possibility to reach some distant airports at over 50 miles away.

This UPDATE enhances the existing Lechfeld AB (ETSL) v2. Lechfeld Air Base is a German Air Force base located 1 km east of Lagerlechfeld in Bavaria. Klaus Jone did a magnificent job in creating this scenery for us flightsimmers. At the time - in 2005 - Klaus Jone depended heavily on the payware Lago FSE to create the emplaced buildings / objects for most of his military airbases, including Lechfeld ETSL. Nowadays, the Lago FSE program is not readily available. After looking at all the screenshots which Klaus Jone packed with this scenery, it's disappointing to install it and then NOT see all those lovely hangars, shelters and buildings. How bare and empty it appears...without Lago FSE!! Well, I have replaced the buildings / objects with similar ones that You CAN see, if you have the required libraries. This scenery was made with EZ-Scenery. No Lago FSE or other payware is required.

Eppley Airfield (KOMA) in Omaha, Nebraska updated for FSX to reflect the current state of the airport in 2016. AFCAD updated to include recent construction projects on the airport including runway extensions, terminal ramp extensions, as well as numerous taxiway layout changes. Gate parking information updated to reflect current gate usage. Photoreal coverage for Eppley Airfield extending south through downtown Omaha to Interstate-80 and west to Interstate-480, as well as numerous 3D models for downtown and parts of Creighton University.

This skin was a request over at the A2A forums. Someone wanted the elements of a similarly painted restored Mustang without all the military insignia. The result is a very highly polished plane with a somewhat understated black and red lightning bolt running the length of the fuselage. Repaint by Ed Keller.
