FSX (Accelleration) Package German KOELN-Class Frigate AUGSBURG of The 60th. That vessels entered service between 1957 and 1964, the last one left its service 1989. This class has used four Diesel engines with 12.000 HP for cruise speed plus 2 gasturbines with 12.000 HP. Combined the vessel reached 30 knots which is quite fast for a 110 m ship. The weapon consisted of two 100mm, six 40mm guns and four torpedo tubes. Additional two quadruple anti submarine rocket launchers and drop racks for mines and depth charges. The Sim-model is very detailed, has a virtual fly bridge and plenty of animations. Twentythree cameras let you explore all the upper decks. An ai-model in FS9 & native FSX format is included to be used for Aicarriers2 or traffic edition. The models should run in FS2004 and probably also in P3dV3 but it is not tested. Opened on the 1 April 1941 RNAS (HMS Tern) was used throughout the second world war by various Sqns of the Royal Navy undergoing training. The station had 4 concrete runways with various hangers and the usual building associated with a military base. It was also the first unit in the UK to experience a helicopter crash when a Sikorsky helicopter getting ready for take off; hit a parked Blenheim. The UK and Iceland where involved in what was called the cod wars in the early 1970s, and NATO was concerned that it would have to remove its bases from Iceland should the dispute escalate between the 2 countries and there was talk of Twatt becoming a NATO base. However, this did not happen and the idea was dropped. There was also talk of the unit becoming a base for helicopters supporting the oil industry, however, as a result of the drop in oil prices during the 80s that idea was also dropped. Most of the airfield has been returned to farming now with only the unique Control Tower and a handful of other building remaining. I did this scenery for a gentleman who had worked at the station, but I have lost his contact details, so I would be grateful if he contacted me to put my mind at rest that he has got the scenery! RAF Snetterton Heath is a former Royal Air Force station located south east of the A11, 6 miles (9.7 km) south west of Attleborough, Norfolk, England. Opened in 1942 the station was used throughout WWII by various units of the USAAF With the end of military control Snetterton Heath was privately purchased in 1952 with a view to utilizing the runways and perimeter tracks as a motor racing circuit. The first motor cycle meeting was held in 1953 and the first motor races the following year. Today, banking and safety barriers have transformed the airfield and Snetterton Circuit is used extensively; not only for local club, national, as well as international racing, but for the testing and development of new designs of motor cycles and cars.
