FSX/P3Dv3,v4 North American P-51D Mustang The P-51D Mustang remains to this day the most widely recognized and deeply revered propeller driven fighter aircraft ever built. Originally designed for the RAF and equipped with an Allison engine, the Mustang was later fitted with the Packard-Merlin, which provided superior high altitude performance. I searched far and wide for an appropriate freeware texture set that depicts a Tornado GR.4 in the GAF's (Luftwaffe) RAL 6003, 7021, 9005, 7012 and FS 34079 colour scheme but could not find even a single one. For me this is the best ever scheme that was used on GAF fighters. The NATO-grey scheme is much too clinical for me and looks rather dull to say the least. I've found a Starboard-side colour-plate on the Internet that really appealed to me and has used it as a starting point for my texture set. Once again much improvisation had to take place as neither picture-, drawing- nor photographic evidence is available of how exactly this camouflage pattern looked like on the Port side and the upper and lower surfaces. None-the-less I think it came out pretty well. As far as the original sound file goes that comes with the original offering: It doesn't do justice to this aircraft and I've therefore decided to utilize the sound file from the 'Mirage 2000N base FSX.zip' package on my side and I suggest that you do the same. I haven't included the mentioned sound file with this offering, because I had a bad experience on a previous occasion where I was reprimanded for using something without authorization. It may not be perfect in many respects, but it still look good, both on the ground and in the air. Please refer to all ‘Read Me’ files for appropriate credits given.

FS2004 Vinh Long Airfield, Vietnam, circa 1968 Scenery. A model of Vinh Long Airfield (circa 1968), a US Army combat aviation base in the Mekong Delta. It was the home of the 114th Aviation Company. This unit flew UH-1 Huey helicopters, and was known as "The Knights of the Air." Vinh Long also had port facilities for a fleet of US Navy swift boats. Vinh Long's 3,500' asphalt runway was flanked on both sides by large, rectangular water-filled basins. This scenery was designed for FS 2002 but it should work in FS 2004. George Knowles. 929K

FSX/FS2004 K5054 Spitfire Prototype The Spitfire represents the pinnacle of inline-piston engined interceptor design, and has become (arguably) THE timeless classic that other aircraft are compared too. Its designer, R.J Mitchell, has become recognized as one of the all time greats in cutting edge aviation design. Work on K5054 started in December 1934. K5054 was named Supermarine Spitfire in March 1936. K5054 took off on its maiden flight at 16.30 on March 5th 1936 from Eastleigh Aerodrome in Hampshire. The flight lasted just eight minutes. The flight was such a revelation that on landing testpilot Summers said of K5054 "Don't touch a thing".. Tested in FS2004/FSX/FSXacceleration, windows 7/8. GMAX mdl by A.F.Scrub.
