In 1944, the RAF let an order under lend-lease for 140 A-26 C/B aircraft to supplant Bostons and Marylands in near and far east squadrons. 2 A-26C-25-DT aircraft were delivered (KL690, KL691) for evaluation, but the order was deemed redundant at that point in the war. The order was cancelled, and 86 undelivered A-26's were turned over to the US Navy in 1945 as JD-1's (US Navy BuNo's 77139 - 77224). KL690(presented here) and KL691, the only A-26's taken on charge by the RAF, were returned to the USN in 1947 as BuNo. 80621 and 80622. Photos of the 2 RAF machines are scarce, though written descriptions are of natural metal machines with black or olive nose anti glare panel and standard RAF markings of the day. A number of what-if schemes are also presented, re worked from exsisting textures from the original release and some of Sean Doran and Jens-Ole Kjolberg's nice camo paints (why re-invent the wheel. Thanks guys) with period markings and nose art. The textures are in BMP.DXT3 nomips format for use in both FSX and FS9 formats, with a shared texture and bump formated folder/config included for FSX. If you insist on DDS format, run them through DXTBMP. In case you kids missed it, the classic SOH A-26 has been remade in FSX native format with bump maps.

FSX/Accel/FS2004/P3d Soviet Cruiser Slava. Three of ten planned ships of the soviet Slava class were built between 1976-79. With a length of 186 m it carrierd 16 containers for SS-N-12 missiles, 64 vertical launchers for SA-N6 missiles and two twin launchers for SN-4 missiles, a 130 mm twin gun, six 30mm guns plus a Kamov Ka-27 helicopter for anti submarine warfare. The cruiser reaches with a power of 130.000 sHp a speed of 32 knots. After modifications Slava was renamed to Moskva and she and her 2 sisters are still serving the russian navy. The sim model has a lot of animations (controlled by a switchboard) inluding missile launches of all three types and a Kamov Ka-27 helicopter which is deployed out of the hanger doing take offs and landings. Home of the White Sands Missile Range and White Sands Space Harbor, a former NASA training site and alternate space shuttle landing site.This scenery includes a landclass modification for fsx that adds the white alkali flats of White Sands National Monument that stretches from Holloman AFB west of Alamogordo, NM all the way west to the Oscura Mountains. By default, it is desert brown in FSX, when it should be very white. Microsoft also left out the Space Harbor runways of the old Northrup (Northrop) Strip as an available airport, this file adds it in. Also included are upgrades to the minor outlying default airports of Condron AAF, Oscura AAF, and Stallion AAF, that serve as support strips for the WSMR. Also included is a land class for the military city of White Sands. No changes are made to Holloman or Alamogordo airports. By Jason L. Terry
