Development of the prototype D.III started in late July or early August 1916. Following the successful Albatros D.I and D.II series, the D.III utilized the same semi-monocoque, plywood-skinned fuselage. but adopted a sesquiplane wing arrangement broadly similar to the French Nieuport 11. The upper wingspan was extended, while the lower wing was redesigned with reduced chord and a single main spar. "V" shaped interplane struts replaced the previous parallel struts. Version 3 includes all previous patches and updates. This version also restructures the file system to be fully compatible with the ORBX "FTX Global openLC North America" product as well as adding functionality for default FSX users. Additionally, water class scenery is updated to appear more realistic, MHRO is updated to reflect the newly expanded apron, and SRTMGL1 (30m) mesh is included. All landclass polygons and coastlines were meticulously hand-drawn directly from satellite imagery to provide the most detailed and accurate scenery available for this region. MHRO, GJAJ/MHNJ, and MHPL are completely overhauled and positioning is corrected. New and fully functioning AI airports are added for MHUT, MHFC, and MHCP, and MHLC is modified to accommodate more AI traffic.

FSX Martin MB-2 Bomber Updated

The Martin MB-2 was the first All American bomber to be produced in quantity. It first flew in 1920 and stayed in service until being replaced by the Keystone bombers of the late 1920's. This was the airplane Gen. Billy Mitchell used to prove an airplane could sink a battleship. This an update for the MB-2 FSX model by Paul Clawson. It features a 2D panel, some vc modifications, smoke effect and new light configuration. Thanks to Paul Clawson for his original model and to all the great unknown gauge and sound designers used for this awesome aircraft. VC modification, new 2D panel as well as smoke and light configuration by Michael Pook.
