This photoscenery is for DAY USE ONLY and will work for any season, but shows only the USGS aerial photo data taken in April 2002. FS2004 Comet 4B BEA/Olympic Hybrid Updated Textures only. By the end of the 'sixties all the surviving Comet 4B aircraft were with BEA although some were only briefly owned as was the case with the four ex Olympic aircraft sold on to Channel Airways. This aircraft had been leased to Olympic Airways in November 1964 and during 1969 it was back serving with BEA with logos added to the Olympic livery. This aircraft later operated the first service of the newly created BEA Airtours on 6th March 1970 and also operated the last BEA Airtours Comet service on 31st October 1973. FSX/P3Dv3,v4 Vought Corsair Early F4U-2 The Corsair entered service in 1942. Although designed as a carrier fighter, initial operation from carrier decks proved to be troublesome. Its low-speed handling was tricky. Landing a Corsair on a carrier was a difficult task. For these reasons, most Corsairs initially went to Marine Corps squadrons which operated off land-based runways. The U.S. Navy did not get into combat with the type until September 1943. This is a further improved version of Michael Pook’s offering of the same aircraft. He subsequently have located a very old texture set that I suppose was meant for a similar package like this one; but that texture set was unusable as the textures in that set differed totally in compilation to the ones of his offering. I have therefor, on his request; done the adaptation of those textures in order that they can be used with this package…it was quite a challenge. I went and further updated the texture set of both the texture set from his offering as well as those from the adapted one as far as colour continuation goes for the set that came with his offering as there were too many colour-hue differences between the fuselage, wings and stabilizer’s colours. And about the adapted set that I did: I colour-coded the engine nestles to coincide with the colours of the main upper-wing’s colours. I also wrapped-over the camouflage pattern of the sides of the fuselage to the upper section thereof to complete the picture. I also re-textured the insides of the plane to the best of my abilities as those pink-ish interiors just didn’t do it for me. I trust that you will enjoy this old package that he and I have tried to blow some new life into.
