Built as a Liberator Mk 1 for the Royal Air Force, AM927 was involved in a landing incident, major enough for the aircraft to be returned to Consolidated for repair, and then conversion to the prototype LB-30. Retained by Consolidated, it was used to shuttle parts and executives between factories. In November 1948, AM927 was sold to the Continental Can Company as N1503 and outfitted with sleeping berths and reclining chairs to transport executives from its hometown of Morristown NJ. I have copied an old photograph of N1503 as she originally looked in service with Continental Can. In 1959 she was sold to Pemex, a Mexican oil company as XC-CAY. In 1969 the Confederate Air Force bought her, and, as N12905, she joined the Warbird circuit. Now, converted back to B-24A/LB-30B configuration, and registered as N24927, "Diamond Lil" continues to wow spectators at airshows both at home and overseas. Painted on to the Jim Nelson/Jaap de Baare/Alphasim Liberator Express model, I have also used Krzysztof Malinowski's B-24 panel as I like it better than the original. Enjoy.

Completing the X series for the Beechcraft range of planes the Bonanza gets all 8 colours. The ugly bonnet paint is gone, while the elegent stripes remain and a resiliant carbon belly and wings. I have tested a new 'layered' approach to painting this time, which has allowed a much better control of the colour and also helps not to colour in things that don't require it! As always with the packs, unzip the file to remove the individual colour folders before dragging them into your community folder.

Take off in a Cessna C172SP Skyhawk from Custer Co airport, look at Mount Rushmore and land at Custer State Park airport in Fairburn, USA. The mission is a night mission. See the readme for a change to a daylight mission. No fireworks then.

Lhasa Gonggar Airport ; IATA: LXA, ICAO: ZULS) is the airport serving Lhasa, the capital city of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. It is about 62 kilometres (39 mi) southwest of the city in Gonggar County of Shannan Prefecture.

"imp" means imperfect, as other mesh I have already processed is of areas that have very little vegetation cover - over the land, or has large urban areas. This "imp" mesh will include some slight discrepancies of altitude (in the case of forested areas - by a magnitude sometimes of +15 metres-depending on how tall the trees are, in the jungle or forest canopy) over urban areas, or areas with a lot of vegetation cover - due to the limitations of the ASTER satellites infra red scanning cameras, and the software used to process the DEM data. Areas where there is little vegetation cover, or non urban areas, the terrain should have truer values. But I feel this ASTER DEM data is so good - why let it all go to waste - especially flying over lovely Pacific islands? So you FSX users out there will have to take all this into account when using this mesh. Grateful thanks to ERSDAC, and NASA for making this data freely available to the public.
