This is an update for FSX of the ATR 42-300, model and VC by Virtualcol. Ex payware. Packaged by Chris Evans. I have changed the GPS; added an autopilot, nav/gps switch, and a trim gauge to the 2D panel; added the other 3 wheels, and the scrape points which were not there at all; and I updated the flight dynamics.

Deep down in my heart I’ve always had great admiration for Russian fighter planes, in particular the MiGs; maybe because the mere mentioning of the name was enough to send a cold shiver down any fighter pilot's back. It was this and the Viktor Belenko (Виктор Беленко) incident that led me to customise the existing texture set to replicate the one as was flown by Viktor Belenko when he defected to Japan in 1976. This texture was also inspired due to the fact that I've built a 48th scale model of his plane. Please refer to all other ‘Read Me’ files (excluding ‘My Read Me’, which is my own) for appropriate credits given. Requires an install from an external link to work.

The Short Sunderland was a long-range maritime reconnaissance flying boat, powered by 4 Bristol Pegasus engines. As from the MkV the power-plant became the Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp. It was armed with 10 machine guns and could carry bombs & depth charges. 752 were built that included 31 MkIVs that were called Seafords. These textures are as for the MkIVs operated by the South African Air Force, 35 Squadron, Based at Congela, Durban, South Africa circa 1945 to the early 50s. The base-pack required is as for an MkIII, but as stated before I do what I can with what I have to work with.

"imp" means imperfect, as other mesh I have already processed is of areas that have very little vegetation cover - over the land, or has large urban areas. This "imp" mesh will include some slight discrepancies of altitude (in the case of forested areas - by a magnitude sometimes of +15 metres-depending on how tall the trees are, in the jungle or forest canopy) over urban areas, or areas with a lot of vegetation cover - due to the limitations of the ASTER satellites infra red scanning cameras, and the software used to process the DEM data. Areas where there is little vegetation cover, or non urban areas, the terrain should have truer values. But I feel this ASTER DEM data is so good - why let it all go to waste - especially flying over lovely Pacific islands? So you FSX users out there will have to take all this into account when using this mesh. Grateful thanks to ERSDAC, and NASA for making this data freely available to the public.
