CFS2 Maskrider GSL Dobodura Pack: This pack contains 11 of the 14 airstrips that were located on the grassy flatlands inland from the coastal village of Buna. Buna, located on the north coast of Papua New Guinea proper, approximately 15 miles NW of the provincial capital of Moro Bay, was the beginning and the end of the Japanese push over the Owen Stanley’s, along the Kokoda Track, to Port Moresby. At the end of the Kokoda Campaign, the flat often swampy plains inland from Buna were quickly developed into one of the larger airfield complexes of the war. Used both as a major transit as well as staging area- the Dobodura complex of airfields was the mainstay of the Allied aerial campaign against New Britain and Rabaul. The airstrips acquired names depending upon their proximity to villages scattered around the plains: Girua, Embi, Borio, Horanda, Popondetta, Soputa and of course Dobodura where a pre-war airstrip, Raways Strip, was already located.
