It is the last airworthy comet, owned by the Mod at DTEO Boscombe Down. It was in service until 1997. DH106 Comet 4C XS235 'Canopus' was delivered new to the Royal Aircraft Establishment in 1963 & served until 1997. It was the last airworthy Comet & is still kept in working order at Bruntingthorpe.
