In 1961, United Dominiums Trust announced its intention to beat the Sydney to London record held by Comet G-ACSS since 1934. Two times Le Mans winning racing driver, Ron Flockhart bought Commonwealth CA-17 Mustang Mk20 ex A68-5 and VH-BVM, and had it prepared for the attempt. The route was Sydney-Alice Springs-Darwin-Sourabaya-Singapore-Rangoon-Calcutta-Karachi-Bahrain-Beriut-Brindisi-Nice-London. Leaving Sydney on February 28, 1961, all went to plan until he diverted from Brindisi to Athens due to bad weather. At Athens the engine overheated and blew a head gasket whilst awaiting a delayed clearance from Athens ATC. The attempt was abandoned, Lockhart flying on to London by airliner. He was three days ahead of the record at the time. G-ARKD was later damaged by fire whilst being taxied at Athens and subsequently cut up for scrap. However, not all the bits made it to the scrappers and are being used in a rebuild of G-ARKD in the UK. Painted on to AF Scrub's modified AlphaSim P-51 Mustang this is my homage to a remarkable attempt. Sadly you don't get the exhaust smoke unless the lights are on. This may also work in P3D.

FSX/P3D Boeing 737 Max 8 Corendon Airlines with Max VC. Turkish leisure airline Corendon, is based at Antalya Airport and currently has 4 Boeing 737-8 Max with another 6 on order. Corendon fly to destinations around Europe, North Africa and Israel. The high spec Boeing 737-Max 8 and paintkit from TDS. Credits go to TDS fantastic native FSX Boeing Max8 model and paintkit. The VC is the Microsoft/Alejandro Rojas Lucena/FSND base modified by Speedbird77 to resemble a Max cockpit, including gauges by G. Munro. There are custom CFM eco sounds included for that extra realism. Use - Instrument panel - Util for ground vehicles, doors stairs, fuel truck, buses. New Utility allows Bus, fuel, doors and more. (Go to Views - Instrument panel - Utility). VC added and edited to allow correct VC views, correct jetways and wheel levels. I added PDF B737 checklist. Contained in this offering are the textures for a Curtiss P-40E Kittyhawk that use to belong to The old Flying Machine Company during the late 80s - early 90s, and probably still are. She's always been quite a favourite of mine as her Shark-mouth motive together with her unique Tail-art arrangement made her stood out above the rest (my opinion). I have therefore decided to do this revised texture set to ensure that she lives on, even in the virtual world of flight simming. Repaint- Albatros DV Osterkamp Skin for Aerocrate's Albatros DV By John Fortin(AKA Polar_Lion) The repaint is of Theo Osterkamps Albatros D V of 1917. As there are no pictures, this is a fictional texture based on two descriptions of his aircraft. "Albatros D.V from July 1917 had mauve /green wings and horizontal stab. The fuselage natural wood stippled with mauve/green. Two black fuselage bands with thin white edges. Yellow spinner and forward cowling. Black(?) wheel centres and the serial number D.2130/17 with a small 24 above serial number." "Theo Osterkamp painted a Maltese cross and two black strips on his D.V D.2130/17 which then looked like a wasp."
