This is a quasi historical, 16 mission campaign, encompassing the World War II battles in which the Saratoga participated – from 1941-1945. I say “quasi historical” because there was so little information about the details of her engagements. Exact locations and composition of strike groups were extremely hard to find. I tried to keep the amount of downloads required low, but most were unavoidable with all the changes in aircraft and ships over time.

The Piaggio P.119 was a cantilever monoplane, constructed completely of metal, with a conventional wide undercarriage. It had a forward-mounted cockpit, with the weapons mounted just behind the three-blade propeller. Air intakes for cooling were fitted under the nose. It had advanced construction for the time, with many removable panels for internal inspection. The number of components were reduced to a minimum, and also standardized, to make construction as easy as possible. No other Italian aircraft was so advanced in these details.

The Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun was a German single-engine sports and touring aircraft developed by Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (Bavarian Aircraft Works). The Chilean Air force operated his only one Messerschmitt Bf 108 during the years 40s, mainly in transport duties, reconnaissance and liaison. This machine was taken to Chile by a german lawyer and arrive to this country around of 1937. After served as training of pilots of FACH and LAN-CHILE, the beginning of the World War II in Europe, renders difficult the arrival of spare parts from Germany, and due to the refuse of USA to providing american engines for "german planes", the Messerschmitt Bf 108 was sold to a Chilean-German citizen (Otto Weiss), that was living in Osorno, and flew until it could by lack of parts, being sold after to an American. Today was in a USA Museum (Week Museum) waiting of his restoration. A shame that it did not remain in Chile. Original model creator: Guy Gauvreau a.k.a. Hubbabubba 2005.
