Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 by Design Team Daedalus Unit: 2./JG51 Russia, winter 1943-44 Pilot: Fw. Kurt Nachtgall There is no "standard" Bf 109G-6, as the production run spanned 2 years, it underwent many modifications and updates along the way. So each model we have created has it's own unique features. Pstrany developed the models using Paul Rebuffat's Messerschmitt model - with permission - as a starting framework and updated the shape, and added a plethora of details, new parts, and ideas. Pstrany also developed the models for the drop tanks, weapons and racks. Captain Kurt created paints for each, the 2D instrument panel, the individual .dp files, the air files and the aircraft.cfg files. Mav SCASM edited each model so that they have animated wing slats, drop tanks, and other features, as well as optimizing models for the best possible framerates. Mav also developed the idea for the 2d panel to be offset for the Revi gunsight to match the CFS2 reticle. We have all benefited from the assistance and guidance of others in the community. Louis Armstrong New Orleans Intl. Airport for P3D. Originally created for FSX, this airport has been converted to work in P3D. Several improvements have been made to the default airport. The default terminal buildings have been replaced with buildings created in FSDS; aircraft gates have been correctly coded using Airport Design Editor 1.76.6582; a new airport vehicle network has been built; extra fuel trucks have been added throughout the airport; the tower view has been changed to display from the roof of the control tower; all taxiway designators are correct and all taxiway signs are correctly placed and named; there is the option to open both runways to AI traffic; the FedEx and UPS cargo areas are displayed; and Jim Dhaenen's excellent ramp lights are also included. RAF Scorton was opened in October 1939 as part of 13 Group Fighter Command and a satellite station of RAF Catterick. It was located near the village of Scorton in North Yorkshire. It was used by the Royal Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the United States Army Air Forces Ninth Air Force during the war. The location was chosen for its flat terrain and its situation close to the now disbanded Eryholme-Richmond branch line that had a sub branch line to Catterick Garrison and RAF Catterick. The famous No. 56 Squadron RAF flew Spitfires from Scorton during the Second World War. Also the USAAF 422d and 425th Night Fighter Squadrons were stationed at Scorton flying the Northrup P-61 "Black Widow" fighter. The Aerodrome closed in 1945 and most of the concreted areas have been extensively quarried away for sand and gravel extraction. Most of what was the airfield is now under a lake or a quarry. There are a few military pre-fab buildings remaining in the area – they were dismantled after the war and moved to local farms to be used as agricultural buildings. Source:Wikipedia
