FS98 Bell Airacobra Mk.1 AH579 601 Sqn RAF October 1941 (BASIC PACKAGE). The RAF ordered 675 P-39D's which were known as Airacobra Mk.1's. The RAF versions differed from their US cousins by the installation of a Hispano 20mm cannon and 6 303-cal (7.7mm) machine guns. Once the aircraft entered service, it was soon found lacking in rate of climb and high-altitude performance.
