Real Charts VFR Sectionals: Miami
(Category: FS Navigation > Flight Simulator Navigation)
22.53Mb (304 downloads)
Hi-def scans of real VFR aeronautical United States charts, as available for download from the FAA, reduced and formatted in pdf form by me for use with flight sims. Display them in a kneeboard utility, print them, whatever...I like to use fragments of them to make pdfs for different flights, but that is only one way.
If you want to "get real" about navigating in the sim the way it's done in real life, these charts are for you. But you might also just enjoy wandering around, comparing the chart to the world depicted in the sim. These charts will most likely be outdated by the time you use them, or your sim may even pre-date the charts, but they should work well enough.
A basic guide for interpreting them is included, as well as tips on how to measure and mark them. Each chart also includes a handy chart legend, a map showing what region it covers, and airspace and frequency information.
If you are unfamiliar with how to use them for navigation, be sure to check out my multi-part tutorial series "Compass, Clock, and Chart", available here at simviation.com.

CFS
Scenery Add-On "Dortmund"
(Category: CFS1 > Scenery)

CFS
Scenery Add-On "Dortmund" The
"Dortmund" scenery is roughly fictional but attempt to show a detailed
depiction of the german airport of Dortmund during WWII. All information
are took through the net, from the Dortmund scenery for FS98 created
by Nils Nitsch, current aerial photos and DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung
GmbH flugplatkarte, for represent a wartime style of this relatively
small airport in the Ruhr region. Due to problem with the CFS ground
level and slopes, the scenery is not placed in the true place of the
real airfield. Today this airport has a asphalt runway, and I don't
know if this was operated by the Luftwaffe in the WWII. But is a good
fictional complement to other sceneries of Ruhr region. I include
static Junkers Ju-52/3m, Fiesler 156 Storch, searchlights and refuel
area with moving fuel truck. By Edmundo Abad. 350K

Genova
Northern Italy
(Category: CFS1 > Scenery)
1.27Mb (304 downloads)
Genova
Northern Italy This is the 2nd scenery in the "Italian" series,
that I intend to make, following on from Ramitella The " Genova "
scenery is roughly historically accurate and highly detailed depiction
of Italian WW2 airbase. Please take note of the captured Italian planes
on the field. They will be on the left as you start on the runway.
You should see a few MACCHI C205 Veltro, and some Fiat g.50 Freccia.
Be careful, unlike other scenery where you can fly through buildings
and ground objects, you will find yourself KIA VERY SPECIAL THANKS
TO Edmundo Abad Santiago- Chile.Without his help I would still be
looking at a blank screen---with that duh look on my face. Joe Higgins.
