Pfalz D.XII early production
Pfalz D.XII early production (Category: CFS2 > Aircraft)
10.33Mb (85 downloads)
Pfalz D.XII early production The Pfalz D.XII was a good aircraft, but it was not as maneuverable as the Fokker D.VII. Thanks to its sturdy wing and thin airfoil section, the D.XII maintained the excellent high-speed dive characteristics of the earlier Pfalz D.III. Like most scouts of the era, however, the D.XII had an abrupt stall and a pronounced tendency to spin. Contemporary pilots consistently criticized the D.XII for its long takeoff run and "clumsy" handling qualities in the air, but consistently compared it against the Fokker D.VII. Rate of roll, in particular, appears to have been deficient. Landings were difficult because the D.XII tended to float above the ground, and the landing gear was weak. Ground crews disliked the extensive wire bracing that accompanied the two-bay wing, again comparing it to the Fokker D.VII which didn't have them. However, it was an improvement over the Albatros D.V and Pfalz D.III which still equipped a number of Jastas and did provide good service. When it was equipped with comparable engines, the Pfalz D.XII could out climb, out dive and was faster than the Fokker D.VII. Between 750 and 800 D.XII scouts had been completed by the Armistice. Early production aircraft had a squared off fin and rudder which lacked enough control authority. It isn't known how many were delivered to front line Jastas with the early configuration as it was was soon replaced in production with a rounded fin and rudder. The model, textures. panel and air files are by Captain Kurt. The pilot figures were developed from Wolfi's freeware Japanese pilot .fsc source file. The prop spinning texture is by Kelticheart. Gauges are by Martin Klein with texture change outs by Captain Kurt. Sound is from the SG Fokker DVII

Nieuport 28C.1 147th Aero Squadron USAS
Nieuport 28C.1 147th Aero Squadron USAS (Category: CFS2 > Aircraft)
8.80Mb (85 downloads)
The Nieuport 28 C.1, America’s First Fighter for CFS2 The Nieuport 28 C.1 was developed in France but was America's first fighter aircraft. It entered service in March 1918. France originally ordered it into production in 1917 only to cancel the order shortly thereafter in favor of the SPAD XIII as the standard French fighter. It was given a new lease on life when the United States Air Service (USAS) ordered 297 of them as it was available when the SPAD XIII could not be procured due to the SPAD production commitment to the French Air Force. It was intended as a stop gap fighter until enough SPAD XIII's became available. Deliveries - without guns - to the USAS 94th and 95th Aero Squadrons began in February and March 1918. By the end of March a limited number of Vickers machine guns were delivered to the 94th for combat patrols to begin. In June, the 27th and 147th Aero Squadrons were also equipped with the Nieuport 28. The Nieuport 28 in combat proved to have outstanding maneuverability and rate of climb with decent speed, but had a weakness on the upper wing where the leading edge could fail, tearing the upper wing fabric off with it when it was pulled out of a high speed dive. This led to a number of incidents in combat causing losses. Some pilots were able to limp back to base with the damage, like Waldo Heinrichs, Jimmy Meissner, and Eddie Rickenbacker, but others were not so lucky. This led to more cautious flying by the pilots and probably hindered the overall combat performance of the Squadrons. Even so, the USAS fighter squadrons turned in an acceptable record with the Nieuport for the four months they flew it in combat until SPADS became available to replace the Nieuports beginning in August, 1918. FSDS 2.24 Model, textures, and flight files by Captain Kurt (Kurt Schwabauer), freeware pilot figure source file by Wolfi – modified by Captain Kurt, and prop spinning texture by Kelticheart.

1.19Mb (85 downloads)
This is a callout gauge for helicopters in P3d v4 (64bit) It should work whether they be default or add-ons. It will not work in any other flightsim version As the name suggests it gives a height callout starting at 100ft. then 50ft,40ft,30ft,20ft,10ft. I have been looking for a helo callout for some time but couldnt find one. This is not all my own work, l have just modified existing programs and put them together. Thanks to Stefan Liebe, Jimmy Foong and Bry Hardee whose 2011, 727 callout add-on formed the basis for this program and to Doug Dawson for his dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64.dll gauge. by Carl Vokes
