FS2004/FSX Zion National Park North, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Cedar City KCDC, Utah Package
(Category: FSX > Scenery)
97.13Mb (1964 downloads)
FS2004/FSX Zion National Park North, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Cedar City (KCDC), Utah (UT) photo-scenery. Cedar Breaks National Monument is a large amphitheater cliff in bright colors of red, orange and purple. It lies east of Cedar City in the northern region of the scenery. The cliff was formed by erosion thru wind, water and ice. Today erosion continues with a pace of about 2 inches every 5 years. Although it is called Cedar Breaks, there are no cedars growing there but juniper trees. The scenery extends south to Zion National Park and covers a large part of Zion Canyon and the Kolob Canyons area. Zion National Park is another place where erosion of the Colorado Plateau formed the most beautiful colorful stone formations of unique and wonderful shapes. There are nine different layers of stone visible in the park. Most of them consist of sandstone. But there is also limestone, gypsum, siltstone, shale, clay and mudstone. The Virgin River cut a spectacular and famous canyon thru Zion Park that is as narrow as 20 feet and up to 2000 feet tall. By Gottfried Razek.

P-51D Reno Air Races Update for FSX
(Category: FSX > Vintage)
1.19Mb (1964 downloads)
This is an update for FSX acceleration of the
P-51D Reno Air Races by Roger Dial, Steve
Small, and Mike Hambly. I have updated the
flight dynamics and changed the panel a bit
from my previous update for FSX without
acceleration. You will need to add up trim
for take off now. You will need the original
aircraft for this update to work. You won't
need any other update for this one to work.
No virtual cockpit.

Atol das Rocas, Atlantic, Scenery Package
(Category: FS2004 > Scenery)
0.60Mb (1964 downloads)
FS2004 Atol das Rocas. This is a self-contained scenery package to add the Atol das Rocas atoll to FS2004. I DIDN'T TEST IT IN FSX. The Atol das Rocas is a forsaken place in the Atlantic Ocean. It belongs to Brazil, and it sits 126 nautical miles from the north-east tip of the cost of Brazil and 84 nautial miles west of Fernando de Noronha following a heading of 295. Fernando de Noronha is another Brazilian oceanic island. Finding the Atol das Rocas is half of the fun. It appears on the GPS if you go to airport SBFN. The history of the Atol das Rocas is tragic and colourful, with lots of shipwrecks, deaths and incredible stories of survival. The light has been placed there in the 1800s, and it was tended by operators and their families who suffered terrible perils. There is no fresh water, no wood for a fire, no dirt to grow a garden. I suggest a search on the Net. There are hundreds of sites in all languages talking about the place, its light, its history. Today there is an automatic solar-powered light on top of an aluminium tower, ruins of the old arrangements (not all the pictures you will find on the Net are the latest ones) and a small shed used by the scientific research group that visits the island. Some people go there by boat for fun. It is probably an enjoyable place on a sunny, calm day, with blue sky and blue water. I wouldn't want to be there at 3 in the morning during an Atlantic storm, though. This is free stuff. Thanks for downloading. Done by Fern Marques.

Charlie Carter’s Special TBF-1 Avenger With this program you can
install all the needed stuff on your hard drive automatically. This
is my favorite TBF-1 Avenger with a very special new texture, a new
panel with GPS, autopilot and fuel dump, an original, heavy Avenger
sound, original weapons and special exhaust effects. This aircraft
is created to play in singleplayer games with much more fun ;-) Enjoy
and have fun. Charlie *Chuck* Carter. 10.2MB

Shuttle-C V4.8 for Orbiter 2010
(Category: Space Orbiter > Orbiter Addons)
5.66Mb (1962 downloads)
This is version 4.8 of the Space Shuttle derived unmanned vehicle, Shuttle-C updated for Orbiter 2010 and the graphics client D3D9. This package must be installed over an existing Shuttle Fleet V4.8 for Orbiter 2010 installation.
The Shuttle-C was proposed in 1987, and the idea was finally rejected in 1990.
1.) Still allows for use with R.J.Croy's STS-GuidanceMFD for automatic rendezvous with LEO satellites. Note that in order for the guidance algorithm to work properly, the line "OMS" must be in the scenario file. This will cause the shuttleC dll to fire the OMS engines without an offset that could yield an unwanted rotation.
2.) Control of the cargo doors is via the key "K".
3.) Once in orbit, and with the doors full open, a cargo can be deployed with the payload dialog box (open with "CTRL+SPACE").
4.) Three views available, default forward view (key "V"), forward payload bay ("SHIFT+V") and aft payload bay camera ("CTRL+V").
5.) Prior to liftoff the cooling flow of LO2 venting from the SSMEs is simulated with "SHIFT+X".
6.) Once in space (before the OMS2 burn) the nose cap can be jettisoned using the payload dialog box button; this exposes the docking port. A docking port view is available along with the COAS overlay using "SHIFT+Z".
7.) The Ku-band antenna is deployed using "CTRL+U".
8.) Two versions of the Shuttle-C are provided, Block I with OMS engines, Block II without OMS engines.
Scenarios included with this package include a launch scenario with 3 MPLMs as cargo, a scenario docked to the ISS, and an on-orbit scenario with the Shuttle-C post-MECO. Establish an orbit at the next apogee with an OMS burn.
Thanks as always to Don Gallagher ("Donamy") for the mesh and textures.
