X-Plane 11 Aeroworx Douglas C-47 Dakota Beta 2.5. The Douglas C47 is a twin-engined low wing transport aircraft, powered by Twin Wasp R1830-90C engines. Between 1935 and 1947 Douglas built a total of 10,654 of the type and over 80 years later there are still almost 1,000 in flying condition. This magnificent aircraft was originally designed by Manfred Jahn, Jan Visser and Team and is being flown by hundreds of happy users. At the end of July, Aeroworx obtained the permission to port this aircraft to X-Plane. As members of the South African Airways Museum Society, we have direct access to their C-47 and also a few other DC-3/C-47's. Getting good photographs is no problem, the crews flying and maintaining these aircraft are also extremely helpful in providing us with documentation, advice, etc. This aircraft features a fully 3D vintage virtual cockpit, with dozens of mouse click-able animations. The Sperry is the primary autopilot, but for the more "modern" guys, a G530 is available as a pop-up. This is a public beta version, PLEASE read the "Release Notes" attached to the download. Iqaluit is the capital of Nunavut, a vast northern region that covers almost all of the Canadian North. The airport is of critical importance to the community, especially when ice makes boat travel impossible. The scenery includes all airport buildings with custom designed and generic buildings nearby. Several typical airlines are represented, both by their flights by their facilities, including First Air, Canadian North, Air Greenland, Ken Borek Air and Keewatin. The Airbus A380 was in Iqaluit in February 2006 for flight testing in cold weather, as do other manufacturers. Airbus will also carry out the same tests for its new A350. CYFB is also a Canadian Force base. Several units are parked in the military area, in addition to the C- 177 and his escort on ramp 2. A Twin Otter from the RCMP, and some general aviation aircrafts complement the fleet. Six ships are in the scenery: four static and two mobile (AI). Zodiacs and a balloon tourist flow into the bay. These, and the ships AI, start their movements 1100Z. The weather station launches a weather balloon regularly. Three small caribou herds are in the vicinity.

FS2004 Bell JetRanger - Silver Metallic Finish This is a repaint of the default Bell JetRanger III. This repaints the Bell JetRanger in a nice, plain silver metallic finish. The interior is nicely done in blue carpet, tan cloth seating and dark trim contrasts. The repaint also features more accurate Bell JetRanger details, including rivet lines on the fuselage, and tailshaft cover rivet and joint lines. FS2004 Hawker Sea Hawk Update. This is an update of a Hawker Sea Hawk (here). The only reference with this aircraft is a .com web site that cannot be found. I have changed the positions of the wing tip lights and the two beacons. I also changed the smoke effects and afterburners so they are more the size for the aircraft. I have fixed the wheels so the nose wheel does not burry itself in the ground, and I have updated the flight dynamics. Bob Chicilo. 108K
