CFS Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI. The largest aero plane constructed and utilized in WWI, the Zeppelin-Staaken R.VI was the pinnacle of aviation technology in 1917. From Sept. 1917 until Aug. 1918 this type R-plane dropped 27,190kg of bombs on Englands mainland. Not one single R-plane was lost in combat to enemy fire.
