Before the First World War, airships had been used as commercial airline carriers and for reconnaissance vehicles by the Army, no one had considered using them as bombers. Designed by Count Ferdinand Von Zeppelin, the airships were built from a rigid cigar shaped metal structure of circular frames connected by longitudinal beams. This made them strong enough to be fitted with engines and to carry a useful payload. There were steering fins at the rear and gondolas suspended below for the crew and engines. More crew compartments were inside the main frame as well as spaces for cargo and bags that contained the hydrogen gas for lift.

FS2004/FSX Magnum texture for ALPHA_Hughes_MD500
FS2004/FSX Magnum texture for ALPHA_Hughes_MD500 (Category: FS2004 > Helicopters)
1.28Mb (1068 downloads)
Magnum PI texture for the ALPHA_Hughes_MD500 in FS9 (& FSX version). This is just for fun. The Hughes MD-500 is a newer model than used on Magnum PI back in the 70s. But what the heck...It still looks great flying around Honolulu and the islands. Fixed the dark landing light and added light reflections to the probe below it by changing the light maps. Now when the light is turned on, it and probe shine. Added cfg lines in the readme.txt so you can add Shockwave Lights if you have them.

CFS2 Vietnam Map and VN_GPS100A.GAUGE (Category: CFS2 > Misc)
0.31Mb (1068 downloads)
CFS2 Vietnam Map and VN_GPS100A.GAUGE. This map shows the locations of the 16 Vietnam airfields contained in McClleland's Far East Scenery marked with the VN_GPS100A.GAU Channel Numbers. The gauge covers Korea and Vietnam and is included here and in my F-100D Super Sabre and A4M Skyhawk downloads. It is easily added to your favorite panel as a separate window. Even if you use another scenery package, the latitude and longitude values for these bases is completely accurate. Channels 1-40 are Korean fields, while channels 45-60 are Vietnam. FS2004
Douglas DC-3 Three Fuel Tank Automixture Gauge
0.48Mb (1068 downloads)
FS2004 Douglas DC-3 Three Fuel Tank Automixture Gauge For three-tank operation, this gauge may be of interest to those pilots who like to fly without checking the "Enable automixture" function in the "Aircraft/Realism Settings" pull-down menu, but want more DC-3 realism than can be achieved with FS2004's simulation of mixture control. It requires prior installation of Beaumont and Bitzer's Douglas DC-3 Three Fuel Tank Modification, to be found in DC3_3TK.ZIP. Its purpose is to replicate the auto-rich and auto-lean settings on the mixture controls, including a fully functional mixture control. Its calibrated range of operation is from 3000 to 12000ft. density altitude. In the auto-rich position, it approximates the checked "Enable automixture" setting on the "Aircraft/Realism Settings" menu. In the auto-lean position, the mixture is leaned to increase the exhaust gas temperature about 30 degrees K. from auto-rich, and will increase achieved miles per gallon. By Dave Bitzer and Mark Beaumont. File name: DCA_3MX.ZIP. 491K
