Located just a minute flight from FTX/ORBX's 74S Anacortes airport, (and actually covered in their scenery) Allan Island is a small 292-acre private island which received its name during the 1841 Wilkes expedition in honor of Lt. William Henry Allen, who was killed while commanding the USS Argus during the War of 1812. Allan Island is part of the San Juan Island Chain. Allan Island features an array of new objects and techniques which we have never used before in our development. This island is coated in a beautiful set of 30cm/px photoreal textures which will make you feel right at home in the PNW. For the first time ever, we have fully deployed an extremely high resolution digital elevation model, covering Allan and neighboring Burrows and Young Island in 2m/px resolution. An outstanding achievement. Following these two combinations, Allan Island is also host for a brand new set of object libraries that arrived in the latest Emerald Object Library v2.0 build. The highlights of these models being the brand new 55 gallon fuel drums and slick traffic cones. Allan Island features a new take on our previous ground vegetation outtakes. We have deployed a new feature covering the entire runway it shorter 3D grass. This feature has turned out extremely nice so far, but may be a performance hog on slower systems. (Midrange is open for debate) Allan Island also features a nifty control panel in which you can easily deactivate features in the scenery, as well as swap the summer 3D grass for icy winter style grass. Before the First World War, airships had been used as commercial airline carriers and for reconnaissance vehicles by the Army, no one had considered using them as bombers. Designed by Count Ferdinand Von Zeppelin, the airships were built from a rigid cigar shaped metal structure of circular frames connected by longitudinal beams. This made them strong enough to be fitted with engines and to carry a useful payload. There were steering fins at the rear and gondolas suspended below for the crew and engines. More crew compartments were inside the main frame as well as spaces for cargo and bags that contained the hydrogen gas for lift.

4 repaints for both FSX and FS9 versions of Paul Clawsons SR.45 Princess Flyingboat. What almost was. The mighty SR.45 Princess was left without customers; long range, high performance landplanes and a plethora war-time airfields leaving the big boats high and dry. Never the less, a number of serious proposals were made for the boats. The Royal Air Force was interested in the aircraft as long range freighters. Aquila offered £1 million each for the 3 aircraft in 1954, wishing to supplant some of its war weary types on its longer routes; an offer that was rejected by SARO. A serious inquiry was made by Convair and the U.S.Navy in 1958 to purchase the boats for conversion as testbeds for a Nuclear powered logistics transport proposal, utilizing a GE-P&W closed cycle nuclear T-45 turboprop system. A final proposal in 1964 was accepted from Aero Spacelines, who wished to convert the aircraft to swingnose freighters for transporting Titan and Saturn components to Cape Canaveral. 3 reapaints for a Nuclear Testbed, Aquila Airways, Aero SpaceLines, and a rework of M.Barnes' RAF C.Mk.I repaint.
