FSX/P3D Short S.45 Solent IV. The Short Solent was a large and powerful flying boat airliner of 1946. Solent 2's and 3's were in service with BOAC until 1950 on the 'Springbok' route to South Africa. The final version was the Solent 4, built for TEAL (Tasman Empire Airways Ltd) who used them from 1949 to 1960. One is preserved today in New Zealand. "imp" means imperfect, as other mesh I have already processed is of areas that have very little vegetation cover - over the land, or has large urban areas. This "imp" mesh will include some slight discrepancies of altitude (in the case of forested areas - by a magnitude sometimes of +15 metres-depending on how tall the trees are, in the jungle or forest canopy) over urban areas, or areas with a lot of vegetation cover - due to the limitations of the ASTER satellites infra red scanning cameras, and the software used to process the DEM data. Areas where there is little vegetation cover, or non urban areas, the terrain should have truer values. But I feel this ASTER DEM data is so good - why let it all go to waste - especially flying over lovely Pacific islands? So you FSX users out there will have to take all this into account when using this mesh. Grateful thanks to ERSDAC, and NASA for making this data freely available to the public. FSX alternative panel for Heinkel He 112. This beautyfull, but almost unknown aircraft was in the late 30th a great competitor for the BF-109 with wings like the Spitfire and a canopy like the P-51 Mustang. I was lucky to have a very rare photograph of the cockpit of this He-112. Now I have created a panel, as close as possible to the real one and matching the flightmodel from A.F.Scrub.
