FS2000 Beechcraft D-18 is truly a workhorse of the skies. Being produced from the late 30's to the late 60's, it has proven itself in its many roles This particular paint scheme is modeled after a Beech the company I flew for had. It is a freighter version and has had many mods applied to it. I was able to duplicate some of them, but I can't make the nose longer! The original had a longer, sleeker nose which really made her look good. In addition to that, some windows were removed and a crew excape hatch was installed on the port side of the plane. All uneccesary items were removed from her as well as the soundproofing. She was loud inside! To the best of my knowledge the aircraft is still around, but I do not know what condition she is in. The Stinson L-5 Sentinel was a small American liaison aircraft built by the Stinson division of Consolidated-Vultee, before and during World War II. Began his life as the pre-war Stinson Model 105 Voyager. When World War II broke out, the Voyager was redesigned and then entered into service as a liaison aircraft. It also flew in the artillery spotter role and as an air ambulance. The later model L-5s had their fuselages modified to accommodate one stretcher patient. About 3591 Sentinels were built during WWII for the US Army Air Force and the US Marines. Original FS5 model creator: Jerry Arzdorf.
