This campaign is a mostly historical commentary of the World War 2 exploits of the USS Essex. The US and Japanese task force compositions, ship names, dates, and most locations are as accurate as possible. In this campaign, the USN is on the offensive. Out of all the actions in which she participated, I chose a good, representative sampling of the major engagements of this great ship from her first action until near the end of the war in the Pacific. Random choice will have you flying either a fighter, dive bomber or a torpedo bomber or maybe as a wingman.

Lockheed Ventura PV1 The Lockheed Ventura was a bomber and patrol
aircraft of World War II, used by United States and British Commonwealth
forces in several guises. It was developed from the Lockheed Lodestar
transport, as a replacement for the Lockheed Hudson bombers then in
service with the Royal Air Force, The RAF ordered 675 Venturas in
February 1940. They were delivered from mid-1942 onwards. Model and

Authorized re-paint of the DoA P40E by Joe Amodea and Jorge
Aslina. With their conciderable help and guidance I have recreated
Flt. Ldr. M.T. Judd's "Red Arrow" AK 919 Kittyhake1A from the 250th
"Sudan" Squadron. Based in Libya in 1942. I thank them both for the
opportunity they gave me and the support from all of my friends in
the Flight Sim community who kept telling me it wasn't a Piece of
Crap. If it wasn't for al of you I would not have been able to finish

Fw189 for Combat Flight Simulator. 1938 Reconnaissance aircraft
used by the Luftwaffe and Hungarian Airforces during WW2. Two 460
hp Argus As 410A-1 inverted vee 12 cylinder air cooled engines. Two
forward firing 7.9mm MG15 machine guns in wing roots. Twin MG17 dorsal
gun. Four 50kg bombs under the wings. Extract the files from the archive
to your cfs directory using the stored folder names. The plane should
appear as 'Focke-Wulf Fw189'. Aircraft flight model, visual model,
