FS98/CFS Douglas DC-6B Twin Pack LAN-CHILE Air Lines & Chilean Air Force FACH. The Chilean National Air Lines LAN operated the Douglas DC-6B between 1955 to 1968, being sold to the Chilean Air Force, who operate them to 1980 (some converted to C-118 for cargo duties). The modern four-engined plane with capacity for 100 passengers, was destined by LAN to flight national and international routes, opening the comercial flights to Isla de Pascua (Easter Island) on central South Pacific. On April 1962 the DC-6B registration #406 equipped as VIP plane, war used as "Air Force One" by the president Jorge Alessandri Rodriguez on his presidential tour to United States, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador and Peru. During "Beagle Crisis" with Argentina in 1978, the FACH's Dc-6B received camouflage in green/tan colors with low visibility markings, operating as tactical transport on southern border regions. Aircraft model is fully animated: moving gears, control surfaces, flaps, propellers, landing lights, with ficcional armament of 2 x 0.30 machine guns in the side windows. These wave files were taken from the Italian Radio Chatter package and modified. I like them so much I use them in my American install and pretend my pilot is an Italian immigrant. I got the Idea from Nibbio's PilotKill effects. I always loved his effects, but I think these are slightly more realistic. I love it when a pilot is wounded and you hear him cry "Mio Dio!" (my God). The intent of these sound files is to increase player immersion by providing more feedback whenever the player, a friend, or a foe is injured or shot down. Dandolo513 recorded the originals.

One of nine bought by the RLS in 1990 for basic training, this aircraft was tested as G-7-140 and registered as PH-SGE in January 1991. When KLM took them over, RLS aircraft were repainted in basic KLM colors. PH-SGE was sold off in June 2002, retaining its basic KLM livery. She was further sold on in May 2015 and became D-EDRS still retaining this basic KLM scheme. Painted on to a heavily modified Slingsby T67 by J. R. Lucariny, the pilots have changed into civilian clothes, but still insist on wearing their helmets. Enjoy.

Today mission is that a small airplane crashed somewhere on Great Isaac Lighthouse Island. Fly out and find the airplane and rescue the survivors then transport them back to base to a waiting ambulance.
