Amelia Earhart's L10E Electra
This aircraft is a customization, upgrade and optimization
of Arik Hohmeyer's fine L10E from FS-Design Berlin. The intent
was to match it as closely as possible to Earhart's L10E Lockheed
Electra. Dave Bitzer's research at the Smithsonian Institute
in Washington, D.C. and independent work by Alex Nicolson
resulted in over two-dozen flight-dynamics changes, including
proper-capacity long range tanks. Norman Hancock designed
two custom panels for this historic aircraft; a classic version
with a Sperry AP and a modern one with a digital AP and more
navigation equipment. The Cambridge Engine Analyzer, Sextant,
Drift Meter, and pop-up E6-B computer are standard on both
panels. Easy one-step install. By Dave Bitzer, Norman Hancock,
and Charles Wood. Intended for use with Amelia Earhart's 1937
World Flight Commemorative here.

Virtual Cockpit Upgrade for the Amelia Earhart Lockheed L10E
Electra. This program will upgrade the fs9 Amelia Earhart
Lockheed L10E by adding a Virtual Cockpit to both the Sperry
Autopilot version of that aircraft and to the Modern Autopilot
version. Before you can use this upgrade you must first have
downloaded and installed the Earhart L10E Electra, filename
l10eae01.zip. This VC is the work of Norman Hancock, who would
like to thank Dave Bitzer for his help and encouragement.
Thanks also to Arik Hohmeyer of FS-Design Berlin for his excellent
L10E Electra, and to J. L. Stubbs for his faithful FS98 Earhart
Panel; both were the basis of the Earhart L10E development.
The VC Upgrade is a one-step install. 2.1MB

Iris P-40 Kittyhawk Mk.IA Package
(Category: FSX > Vintage)
70.67Mb (7073 downloads)
This conversion is more than just a simple recompile of the previous FS2004 aircraft. We have added four brand new textures in this product representing four of Australia's WWII Aces, complete with new weathering and effects. We have also added new normal map and specular map materials to provide a stunning external experience.
We have taken the time to record a brand new audio package for the P-40 Kittyhawk using authentic P-40 recordings featuring full 360 degree sound panning and new ambient sound for when you are sitting on the ground doing pre-flight. Now you can hear birds in the fields, aircraft and helicopters overhead as you ready yourself for flight!
We have updated the internal cockpit providing a complete set of new gauges designed for easy reading and clarity, and even added a basic modern cockpit for those needing some navigation tools to hand.
Pam Brooker, resident flight dynamics engineer has done a superb job of the flight model, giving you an aircraft which is a true joy to fly, however it is an aircraft you have to FLY, rather than many 'point and go' aircraft seen these days.
All in all, IRIS are very happy at the conversion of this product and hope that you all will once again, enjoy the thrill of the P-40 Kittyhawk in Flight Simulator X.
NOTE: See "FSX Root/IRIS Classics/P-40E Kittyhawk/Bonus Schemes" for additional paints.
