Update of Tu-134A VikingAir
(Category: FSX > Civil Jets)
19.56Mb (380 downloads)
This is an update for the Tu-134A by Per Neis
and Kim Schandorff. I have updated the
flight dynamics; adjusted the contact points;
given it a panel from a Tu-16 which I altered
a bit; adjusted the fuel to what it is
supposed to be, as to amount; changed the
sound to one that is easier on my ears; and
have it reaching the top speed it is supposed
to according to the specifications from the
internet. The landing lights are in the model
file and can be seen from inside the cockpit;
and they toggle the cabin lights. This is the
whole aircraft. No VC.

P3D/FSX Erickson Aero MD-87 Air Tanker Textures Pack
(Category: FSX > Civil Jets)
6.72Mb (380 downloads)
This is a repaint pack for the SGA freeware converted DC-9 Pack for FSX/P3D V4 versions. This repaint pack represents Erickson Aero Tanker's (Aero Air) fleet of MD-87 air tankers. This pack includes the entire fleet of 7 total aircraft regardless of their active, conversion, or storage status. Erickson currently (2019) has 5 active MD-87s. T-101, 102, 103, 105, and 107. Erickson has one other tanker in conversion process, expected to enter service in 2020, that will be T-104. T-106 is the only remaining MD-87 in Erickson's fleet not converted into an air tanker and is in storage. Erickson also has listed an MD-83 in storage, but to my knowledge will not be converted, at least in the near future. The MD-87 has had a lot of controversy surrounding it's new career as an air tanker. Even an FAA restriction for it to drop retardant with it's wheels down makes for a very unique drop profile. A profile no other tanker shares with the MD-87. Erickson's MDs are capable of dropping up to 3,000 gallons of fire retardant. These repaints should be compatible with FSX and earlier versions of P3D, but may need personal tweaking if they do not appear correctly in those sims (more than likely the texture.cfg file). The repaints were created in P3D v4.5. I have also created custom thumbnails for FSX users. Repaints by: Nicholas Mitchell

ASTER GDEMv2 30m mesh for Iran & West Caspian Sea states Pt4a
(Category: FSX > Terrain Mesh)
74.42Mb (380 downloads)
There are Fourteen (14) parts of this mesh to download as separate files.
ASTER GDEM Version 2 is a 30 metre definition DEM, its better than the version 1 data that ERSDAC, of Japan and NASA originally released, but it does have its limitations.
GDEM has been obtained from a satellite that uses stereoscopic infrared scanning cameras, this brings with it problems in the resultant data.....where it sees the tops of trees, buildings etc, as the ground terrain.
If you look at the jpg image with the terrain type errors shown as a graph, you will see that the only 'safe' terrain to use this data with - in FSX - is scrubland, or desert terrain.
Its hopeless in defining the terrain in places like Europe - with all the artificial structures, (buildings) and different types of woodland, so any mesh I create from this data won't include areas like that....it will be more desert type terrain, and scrubland.
I won't be doing Greenland because something about the ice around Greenland, (or any other land mass with ice) it creates false data.
It does give enough fine data to reveal railway lines, and some roads though.
This mesh has been made for FSX only.
Grateful thanks to ERSDAC, and NASA for making this data freely available to the public.
