This is a repaint for Project Airbus' Airbus A380 in a fictional Air Canada 2017 livery. Includes base model, high-quality textures, and updated VC. Air Canada never flew the A380, opting for the more economical Boeing 777 family for its high-density, long-haul routes. This is for several reasons, including a relatively lower population in Canadian passenger hubs, the phasing out of quad-engine aircraft, and lower international customer demand, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in our new universe, Air Canada has taken delivery of one single Airbus A380, available to fly any route of your choice. It flies under the registration C-FJAB and the tail number 801. In late 2019 analysts were forecasting a launch of what was then termed the New Midsize Aircraft (NMA or 797). Boeing defined two versions - the NMA-6 (797-6) with 228-passenger, 4,500nm (8,300km) and the NMA-7 (797-7) which would seat 267 in two classes with 4,200nm range. The company saw a market of about 5,000 planes over 20 years. But others suggest upwards of 7,000 with the potential for the aircraft to make 30,000 city pairs viable. The chance of seeing the hypothetical Boeing 797 in the skies will still be a long time coming. Despite the difficulties in competing with Airbus, Boeing is in no hurry to bring a completely new aircraft to market. New York Air was a low-cost American airline owned by Texas Air Corporation and based at Hangar 5 at LaGuardia Airport in Flushing, Queens, New York. It ceased operations on February 1, 1987, in a merger with Continental Airlines. New York Air was well known for its onboard bagged snacks, known as "The Flying Nosh".
