This is an update for FSX of the Lockheed Electra by Mike Stone. I have added to, or changed some of the gauges on the panel; added a HUD in a window; and updated the flight dynamics. No VC.

Back in Montana again! Today we get to visit Great Falls International. Not the heart of the Big Sky, but if you like mountains (as I do) it is a great place to start your adventure. Helena is closeby. As is Idaho. I've tried some new things that I hope you like. I'm a fan of night flying. I think you might like KGTF at night. As with all my work the structures are original work. Some are accurate, some are workups based on what I think they might look like.

The Curtiss C-46 Commando is a transport aircraft derived from the Curtiss CW-20 pressurised high-altitude airliner design. It was used as a military transport during World War II by the U.S.Army Air Forces and also the U.S.Navy/Marine Corps, which used the designation R5C. This aircraft continued in U.S.A.F. service in a secondary role until 1968. The C-46 continues in operation as a rugged cargo transport for Arctic and remote locations with its service life extended into the 21st century. If you search using "c46", you will find additional models and textures, including a special set created by Garry J. Smith.

RAF Scorton was opened in October 1939 as part of 13 Group Fighter Command and a satellite station of RAF Catterick. It was located near the village of Scorton in North Yorkshire. It was used by the Royal Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the United States Army Air Forces Ninth Air Force during the war. The location was chosen for its flat terrain and its situation close to the now disbanded Eryholme-Richmond branch line that had a sub branch line to Catterick Garrison and RAF Catterick. The famous No. 56 Squadron RAF flew Spitfires from Scorton during the Second World War. Also the USAAF 422d and 425th Night Fighter Squadrons were stationed at Scorton flying the Northrup P-61 "Black Widow" fighter. The Aerodrome closed in 1945 and most of the concreted areas have been extensively quarried away for sand and gravel extraction. Most of what was the airfield is now under a lake or a quarry.
