The MiG-23 may be the ultimate expression of late 1960s fighter technology. It was created in response to a Soviet requirement that takeoff run be dramatically decreased, among other things. Swing-wing technology with high-lift devices, coupled with high-thrust engines, achieved that goal. The MiG has a storied career, and is probably best-known for the two Libyan examples shot down by U.S. Navy Tomcats. The advent of doppler radars and more advanced engines quickly relegated the MiG-23 to the back burner and eventual retirement, but the aircraft still retains a unique place in the history and development of the jet fighter. FSX/P3D 3/4 Chance Vought F4U-7 Corsair package. Liveries include US Marines, Blacksheep, VMA, VMF, French Navy, Royal Navy. The Vought F4U Corsair is an American combat aircraft that made it's name in World War 2 and Korea. The aircraft was so popular that Vought was unable to meet demand and called in additional manufacturing by Goodyear and Brewster. Original fantastic ALPHA BLEU CIEL model converted to FSX native format by LLS. VC converted to FSX native with P3D v4 panel adaption by Chris Evans using gauges from Milton Shupe. FS2004/2002 Mikoyan MIG-23MF "Flogger G" Meant as a point defense fighter, MiG-23 offered a powerful radar, an infrared search and track system, a selection of radar and infrared guided weapons and tremendous speed (Mach 2.35) to counter its adversaries. The MiG-23 was designed in 1964-66 as a successor to the MiG-21. In addition to a much more powerful engine, the MiG-23's most significant new feature was its variable sweep wing. FS2004/2002 North American F-100F Super Sabre. The F-100F was essentially an F-100D stretched for two crewmembers. The USAF needed a supersonic trainer and North American Aviation converted an F-100C (S/N 54-1966) at its own expense for evaluation. The F-100F, which first flew on 7 March 1957, retained the air-superiority and fighter-bomber capabilities of the F-100D although armament loads were reduced.
