FSX Rock Cliff Airport, Swiss Alps. Scenery for Rock Cliff Airport located at the base of the Swiss Alps on the Italian side. It’s about 31nm north of Milan in a river valley. This makes for a difficult approach if you are trying your skills landing on runway 36. There are mountains all around and the valley is narrow. This airport has its own VOR to make it easy to find. The North American P-51 Mustang was the most successful, most versatile fighter of World War II (1939-1945). Designed in 1940 for Britain, the first prototype XP-51 was finished in just 117 days. The EAA Museum's XP-51 was the last of the four prototypes built by North American Aircraft in 1940, and the first P-51 delivered to the US Army Air Forces. XP-51 #4 was acquired by the EAA after years in storage at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. It was completely restored in 1975-76. Welcome to the RAF Leeming for FSX package. THis scenery is 'representative' and is NOT true to life in every way. It is designed to give a better than default feel to FSX. RAF Leeming is a Royal Air Force station in North Yorkshire, UK. The station opened in 1940 as a bomber station during the Second World War. In 1943 the station was assigned to No. 6 Group Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) with a sub-station at RAF Skipton-on-Swale. The main aircraft operated were Whitley, Stirling, Halifax and Lancaster bombers. Following the war, the station became a night fighter base, equipped initially with Mosquito and then with Meteor and Javelin aircraft before becoming a Training Command airfield in 1961. The station was then home to No. 3 Flying Training School, equipped with the Jet Provost aircraft.[1] It functioned as a training base until 1988 when it became a front line base in the air defence role equipped with Tornado F3s. Initially it hosted Nos 11, 23, and 25(XXV) Squadrons, all flying the F3.

FS2004 Lechfeld AB, ETSL (former EDSL), Germany. This airfield located about 60 NM in the west of Munich (Bavaria,South Germany) has been extensively reworked with Lee Swordy's AFCAD 2.21 and Lago's FSE 110 to implement a commercial section to the airbase which is still in a ongoing discussion. Generaly this airfield is used by the German Air Force flying Tornado as Combat A/C and Hawker-Siddely 745 for Flight Check purpose. During the early seventeeth I was involved in the Flight Check business and this was the basic reason for reworking tis airfield. Created by Klaus Jone. 1.1MB
