Port Columbus International Airport, Ohio
Port Columbus International Airport, Ohio (Category: FS2004 > Scenery)

Port Columbus International Airport scenery for FS9. Port Columbus International Airport in Columbus, Ohio, is a gem of an airport for aviation buffs. It first opened in 1929 at a site chosen by Chales Lindbergh, as part of an air-rail route from New York to Los Angeles. The original terminal building has been restored and is now used for office space. Two of the original three hangers are still in use (I included the third hanger in the scenery). The six hanger Lane Aviation FBO was added in 1935 and has been in operation these 78 years. In 1959 the modern terminal was first built, with additions and renovations to follow. Netjets opened their facilities in 2001. With the exception of the runways, this version of KCMH was built entirely from scratch. This is the first large airport I've done in which all buildings on the field (except for the control tower) are custom made and partly or fully photo textured. I've also made more use of ground photo textures. Many hours went into the creation of Port Columbus International Airport for FS9. I hope you enjoy it. By Sidney Schwartz

BGLC is used for building BGL scenery or MDL files (Category: FS Design > Scenery Design)

BGLC is used for building BGL scenery or MDL files. BGLC.EXE has built into it (as a resource) all the files needed to make BGL scenery (all the include files, and MASM) so this is the only tool anyone needs to make scenery. It also does not require the input file to be a pure asm file, BGLC will add the proper ASM headers/footers if needed, the input file can just start out with BGL macros. 857K

FS2000 Cessna C-177RG Cardinal. Originally designated the 172J, the 177 has an unbraced cantilever monoplane wing that makes it easy to identify from its siblings. Its sleek airframe and 180 hp-200 hp Lycoming engine makes it fairly fast and it is a perfect plane for cross country flying. This is the retractable gear version and it is designated 177 RG. Cardinals were made until 1978. This FSDS design includes full moving parts, virtual cockpit, transparent canopy with glass reflections and an instrument panel with 360 degree cockpit bitmaps. FS2004/FSX Steamboat Springs (KSBS), Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Colorado
91.57Mb (1804 downloads)
(CO) photo scenery. The Flat Tops Wilderness Area, which is the second largest wilderness area in Colorado, is named for its many flat topped mountains that are clearly visible from the sky. Trappers Lake, located in the north of the area inspired Arthur Carhart, a US Forest Service official, to initiate a plea for Wilderness preservation as early as 1919. Finally in 1975, three years before his death in 1978, the Flat Tops were designated a wilderness area. No wonder he found the area so entrancing: behind Trappers Lake loom majestic volcanic cliffs, and beyond them a vast subalpine terrain reluctantly yields to alpine tundra with an average elevation of about 10,000 feet. More than 100 lakes dot the country above and below numerous flat-topped cliffs. Steamboat Springs is an internationally known winter resort destination. By .
