The Dornier Do J Wal ("whale") was a twin-engine German flying boat of the 1920s designed by Dornier Flugzeugwerke In the military version (Militärwal in German), a crew of two to four rode in an open cockpit near the nose of the hull. Several countries, notably Italy, Norway, Portugal, Uruguay and Germany, employed the Wal for military tasks. The civil version had a cabin in the nose, offering space for up to 12 passengers, while the open cockpit was moved further aft. Main users of this version were Germany, Italy, Brazil and Colombia. The Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen used two Dornier seaplanes in his unsuccessful attempt to reach the North Pole in 1925. His two aircraft, N-24 and N-25, landed at 87° 44' north. It was the northernmost latitude reached by any aircraft up to that time. This is an FSX update for the FS2002 model of the Wal, posted by the "Freeware Project Dornier Whale" in 2003. It features three closed cabin models and one open cabin model in four different liveries. The focus of this update lies on completely reworked VCs and new 2D panels, giving the cockpits a much more realistic appearence. Included are three different panels (two for the closed cabin model and one for the open cabin) with now all German authentic gauges of the 1920s. Fs2002/CFS2 Spitfire Mk XI: The Mk XI was a reconnaissance aircraft based on a combination of features from the marks VII, VIII and IX. The PR.Mk.XI variant, the last one of the Spitfires with Merlin engine, was the most important allied reconnaissance airplane on the European front, being used by the RAF and the USAF, flying missions alone and unarmed at distant objectives as far as Berlin. Spit Mk XI nr EN 409, flown by Squadron Leader Martindale, reached 606 mph (Mach 0.89) in a 45 degree dive on 27 April 1944. Complete aircraft by A.F.Scrub. 5.4MB

2 'what if' repaints for the XF-11 Redux package. A 1946 RAF requirement for a long range, high altitude strategic recconiassance aeroplane to supplant war-weary Mosquito's, resulted in a small number of R-11A's being taken on charge, as Athena PR.Mk.I, and Mk.IA's with special electronic equipment, pending introduction of the Canberra. With a pressurized cockpit, service ceiling in excess of 49,000 ft, 4000 miles+ range, and a 400kt groundspeed at altitude,the 20 or so Athena's roamed at will across the Iron Curtain, providing targeting data,weather,ELINT and strike route information for RAF Strike Command, and remained in RAF service untill 1958. 2 aeroplanes are depicted in standard dinural and nocturnal schemes of the day. Not without precident, as a small number of RB-45C's were bailed to the RAF for clandestine overflights of the East Bloc in the early'50's. Also includes 2 revised Config.files, adding landing light,beacon,strobes and position light, one standard FS lights, and one for ShockWave payware lights.Contrails added at -29 F, airshow smoke moved to position on #2 engine exhaust, red VC lighting, exhaust flame effect (on cockpit light key- CTRL-L) and start-up effect.
