FS2002 Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base. AIRBASE SCENERY DESCRIPTION An accurate model of Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base as it appeared in mid-1968. Ubon RTAFB was the home of the famous 8th Tactical Fighter Wing “Wolfpack” during the Vietnam War (1965-1974). The 8th TFW flew F-4 Phantom IIs. The “Wolfpack” shot down 40 North Vietnamese MiG aircraft - more than any other fighter unit of that war. Another specialty of the 8th TFW was “bridge busting” using laser guided bombs. Note: This scenery requires the Trees_v3.zip Object Library by Gerrish Gray. Due to the large size of this scenery (about 900 textured 3-D objects) it will not function correctly on older, slower computer systems. Revised FS2002 Val-U-Prop Douglas DC-3 CargoLiner Plane and Panel. Val-U-Prop is a rogue airline based in Bloomington, Indiana, that flies everything from VIPs to sheep manure anyplace and anytime. VP's motto is "No job too small; No fee too large," and our DC-3's, DC-4's, DC-6's and DC-8's can be seen hedge-hopping into various obscure airports throughout the world. This aircraft is an all-aluminum re-paint of the fabulous DC-3 OH-LCH by Jan Visser, Erik Ellis, Roy Chaffin, Ian Roper and Bill Rambow, to which FS2002 lights have been added. It has military capability, including machine guns and NUCLEAR/GPS/JDAM guided bomb launch. Panel includes everything on main panel, except for GPS and (optional) default radios, so there is no tabbing. The very aluminal wing views were shot by Thomas Klein, and the vintage C-47 cabin was photographed by Tom Turner. Gauges by James Underwood, Ernie Kennedy and Dai Griffiths.
