Hardwick was home to the 93rd Heavy Bombardment Group US 8th Airforce. This group flew the B:24 Liberator from this airfield in WW2. Today, part of the airfield hosts two P:51 Mustangs owned by Maurice Hammond, as well as a musuem dedicated to the men that flew from here during the second world war.Hardwick had a navigational aid known as Buncher 7, which I have depicted with an NDB. The frequency is 487.00. Buncher beacons were used to assemble the huge bomber formations safely until they were above the weather.

As there are no pictures, this is a fictional texture based on two descriptions of his aircraft. "Albatros D.V from July 1917 had mauve /green wings and horizontal stab. The fuselage natural wood stippled with mauve/green. Two black fuselage bands with thin white edges. Yellow spinner and forward cowling. Black(?) wheel centres and the serial number D.2130/17 with a small 24 above serial number." "Theo Osterkamp painted a Maltese cross and two black strips on his D.V D.2130/17 which then looked like a wasp." The bases are KIETA,TOROKINA, KAHILI and BUKA….Moving carriers is located at (KIETA) 90 degrees east…Then you head west 270 degrees to (TOROKINA) base (40 miles) Once there go 270 degrees west 20 more miles to get to TOROKINA’S moving carriers and ship’s! P-36A Hawk circa 1941 Oahu, Hawaii Textures only This is a repaint of an original skin by Bruno Duffort for his Hawk 75 fixed gear export for China. I have reworked and retouched the skin to reflect the markings and finish of early USAAF schemes used on some of the P-36's and P-40's station at Wheeler Field and other locations that were attacked on Dec. 7th.
