NF-104s achieved altitudes of over 100,000 feet using a "zoom" climb technique assissted by a 6000 lb thrust rocket motor mounted in the tail just above the J-79 turbojet engine afterburner. Headquartered at the PNB Financial Center in Pasay City, the airline was founded in 1941 and is the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name. The Philippine Airlines fleet composed of wide-body and narrow-body aircraft from four families (excluding PAL Express fleet): Airbus A320, Airbus A330, Airbus A340 and its flagship, Boeing 777.
