FSX Douglas VC-118-DO 'The Independence'Textures only. This Douglas VC-118-DO was the personal aircraft of President Harry S. Truman. It was named 'The Independence' after President Truman's home town in Missouri. The aircraft was delivered on 1 July 1947 and served from 4 July 1947 on as a presidential aircraft till 1953 when Gen. Dwight Eisenhower became President of the USA. It seems that the rather special paint job was based on an idea by President Truman himself. 46-0505 served on as a general VIP transport till 1966 when it was donated to the Smithonian Institute for preservation. It is on loan to the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.'The Independence' could accommodate for 24 day or 12 sleeper passengers (in the main cabin). It had a luxurious State Room aft of the passenger door. Usually there was a crew of eight. It is featured here in its original tan, blue and metal livery. You will require Jens B. This is an FSX update for the experimental Bell X1 aircraft. It was the first aircraft to break the supersonic wall at a speed of Mach 1.015 in 1947. It features a completely new VC and 2D panel configuration as well as corrected smoke effects. Configuration by Michael Pook

The Kirongo Oil company has been having problems with their computer systems for some time. Three Systems Engineers will be taken to the two most important locations where the troubles have been occuring. The default Cessna 208 is the prefered plane for the trip but you may use any STOL. Check the Route map for other stops will be made. Weather varies but the large lake is a generator of thunderstorms at any time and anywhere...Do check the landing fields (grass) at the company locations before landing for good measure..

My AddOn provides a pilotable ship with bridge, sounds and special effects like forward firing guns, simulated missile launch and distant explosions. 8 camera views let you explore the ship. The VTOL-fighter Yak-38 can be set onto the deck and with a special gimmick you even can rise or lower the vertical take off or landing sequence. This aircraft, OO-CBI, was built post-war as a Douglas DC-4-1009 airliner, delivered to Sabena in 1947.It had a long carreer with Sabena and later the United Nations and Air Congo.
