FSX/FS2004 P-47N-2-RE "Chautauqua" and P-47N-5RE"Icky and Me". The last of the Thunderbolts to be manufactured in quantity was the P-47N, a specialized long-range version designed for service in the Pacific theatre. The P-47N had a new "wet" wing of slightly larger span and area. It gave excellent service in the Pacific in the final year of the war, particularly in escorting B-29 bombers in raids on the Japanese mainland. This is Tim Conrad's T-33 ( T-Bird ) Updated For Flight Simulator X. Design work for the Lockheed P-80 began in 1943 with the first flight on 8 January 1944. Following on the Bell P-59, the P-80 became the first jet fighter to enter full squadron service in the United States Army Air Forces. This Aircraft is the Photo Recon Version a RT-33. The RT-33A carried a 12-inch focal length nose oblique camera and 6-inch cameras in the left, right and vertical 'tri-met' stations. FS2004 Uluru - formerly known as Ayer's Rock, Australia. This is Uluru, the rock in the middle of the desert in Australia. The original in FS was very poor, and it didn't look anything like the photographs. This one does, and even has a bit of a red texture at night. Uluru was re-named Ayer's Rock for a while, but it is officially back at being Uluru, as it should. I had to use trickery to make it show at great distances, and you will just notice a flicker at the 30 km mark, more or less. The Connellan airport, YAYE, is all my own invention. I tried very hard to get any information about it, but didn't get replies from anyone (If you have any info, drop me a line at fernmarques@yahoo.com). The airport includes my own beacon tower, with which I am very happy, and I have to thank Arno Gerretsen for teaching me how to do it. Under the hood of the latest Harrier is a revolutionary new system called vectored-thrust aircraft advanced flight control (VAAC). Designed by QinetiQ's predecessor, DERA, with funding from the US-UK Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Office, VAAC uses advanced "fly by wire" technology to turn over many of the Harrier's flight characteristics to computers. This makes the aircraft much simpler to fly and enables engineers to fine-tune it quickly for improved handling, based on pilot feedback between sorties.
