McDonnell FH-1 Phantom.
This was the first all-jet airplane ordered into production
by the Navy. A new form to bury the J30 engine under the root
of the both wings that was on earth manufactured with the body
was adopted. And, a straight line main wing and the horizontal
tail with a strong dihedral angle were combined with a thin
body. Though the maximum speed achieved 770 km/h, because rising
performance and the practicality, etc. are low, only 60 planes
were manufactured and it ended. The first all-jet squadron aboard
a carrier was operational with FH-1 Phantoms on the USS Saipan.

For those who enjoy scifi flying machines, here is the Star
Trek U.S.S. Enterprise. The NCC-1701 from the original tv show
created at the 60's to explore new worlds and go where no man
has gone before. This starship was created for fun, but took
a lot of work to make it as close as possible to the original
Enterprise. It is capable of mach 4.75, very short landing and
